If you’ve been charged with a felony or misdemeanor crime of any kind, you should contact a lawyer immediately. In order to achieve the best resolution, it is vital that you get an attorney involved in your case as soon as possible after your arrest. Ronnie Rae and his qualified staff will help to resolve your case and protect your freedom. We work in the following areas of criminal law:
Domestic violence can be classified as either a misdemeanor or a felony, depending on the severity of the crime. Assault (in any degree), harassment, and malicious mischief committed by a family or household member against another can be considered domestic violence. Violence against someone with whom you have a “dating relationship” can also constitute domestic violence.
In regards to domestic violence calls, Washington law requires police officers to make an arrest if there is cause to believe there was a crime. Even if there are no visible injuries, the crime appears relatively minor, or accusations are just another person's word against yours, officers are required to make an arrest.
If you’ve been charged with domestic violence, you could face jail time, fines, court costs, limitations on your right to visit your children, loss of your right to possess a firearm, and probation time. The court may also issue a no-contact order against you, and you may not be able to reside in your home, visit your children, or access your property. A no-contact order will probably be issued and upheld even if the other party does not want it.
If you’ve been arrested for domestic violence, we can help you achieve the best possible resolution for your case. Contact Ronnie Rae, Attorney at Law, for a free case review.

Reckless Driving
Without the right representation, a reckless driving charge can be punishable by $5,000 in fines and up to a year in jail. In Washington, reckless driving is defined as “the wanton disregard for the safety of persons or property,” and is classified as a gross misdemeanor. Penalties for reckless driving may also include purchasing high-risk SR-22 car insurance for up to three years. SR-22 insurance is generally a lot more expensive than regular car insurance. You may also have your license suspended for up to 30 days, beginning within 45 days of your arrest.
People charged with reckless driving may not always realize the heavy penalties associated with the crime. Many times, the person accused is not aware of how difficult it can be for the prosecution to prove the charges. Reckless driving charges may be reduced to traffic infractions or even dismissed with the help of an experienced lawyer like Ronnie Rae. We can help steer you through these legal pitfalls. Contact Ronnie Rae, Attorney at Law today, and we will assess your case for free.

Negligent Driving
The state of Washington defines a negligent driver as a person who “operates a motor vehicle in a way that is both negligent and likely to endanger a person or property, and exhibits the effects of having consumed liquor or an illegal drug.” However, you do not need to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs to be convicted of this charge. A negligent driving charge is a misdemeanor, and should not be confused with a DUI.
There are no mandatory penalties for negligent driving. A conviction will not require mandatory jail time, mandatory license suspensions, or high-risk car insurance. However, the repercussions could still be considerable and expensive. Aside from fines, your insurance company could raise insurance rates if there are negligent driving charges on your record. Additionally, if you have several serious violations in a short period of time, your license could be suspended.
Avoid dealing with a negligent driving conviction. Contact Ronnie Rae today for a free case evaluation.

Speeding
Almost every driver has gotten a speeding ticket at some time or another, but more than 80 percent of those tickets are never challenged in court. Minor traffic infractions such as speeding can have serious repercussions, especially if you’ve had several speeding violations in a short period of time. Speeding tickets can also contribute to significant increases in your insurance rates.
We will aggressively fight to get your ticket dismissed, protect your driving record, and maintain your low insurance rates. Contact Ronnie Rae, Attorney at Law today.
